Marcie, Justin, and Matt

The mere fact that we know each other is quite novel.

Matt Pitchford, born and raised in Washington State, is now attending Willamette University in Salem, Oregon. Homeschooled throughout high school, he kept busy with the Boy Scouts of America and the NCFCA debate league. A published author, he enjoys reading and writing as much as possible. He is passionate about communication, good movies, and long walks on the beach.

Marcie Little loves to travel — meeting new people, experiencing new cultures, and discussing different worldviews are all fascinating pursuits that traveling provides. When she isn’t road-tripping, she enjoys reading, talking on the phone, journaling, and singing. A Georgia native, she is entering her senior year of college through Thomas Edison State College’s online program, where she is studying communications, another one of her passions. She is excited to add “blogging” to her list of favorite activities.

Justin Louis- As an artist-thinker with a business degree, Justin is passionate about people and what makes them alive.  His interests are quite varied, though for some time he’s been intrigued by the impact that art has on culture. His current employment is with the Institute for Cultural Communicators as Tour Manager; he’s also an experienced photographer, enjoys backpacking and loves to read. As he intentionally integrates his faith with all the areas of his life, he’s excited to share his thoughts and observations on the world around him.

troika-about-4

How this project came to be is a merger of a series of unlikely and fantastic events.  We first met each other in 2006 when we were attending an Institute for Cultural Communicators event in Louisiana. In 2007, we all came back and served as “staff assistants.” That summer, we all were accepted as touring interns with the Institute.  For five full months, we taught, worked, played, and lived together. We’ve been fast friends ever since.

This blog, then, is equal parts reminiscence, experiment, reunion, and intellectual inquiries. … Frankly, we wouldn’t have it any other way.
